Cabbage
Take cabbage leaves and boil them in milk for sometime. Simmer it until it turns in a thick viscous mixture. This hot cabbage mash is covered with a cloth. This cloth is used while it is hot on to the back. It is left to stay overnight to obtain relief from pain.

Stretching
Gently stretching the muscles round the lower back and hips can produce a big difference to comfort levels. In some instances, especially Piriformis syndrome, stretching alone can alleviate symptoms completely. Stretches ought to be held for 20-30 seconds and repeated regularly. Stretching shouldn't cause pain.

Extension exercises
Extension workouts are particularly useful in mild to moderate disc prolapses. Moving the rear into an extended position can reduce the pressure on the sciatic nerve. These exercises must only be performed if comfortable to do this.

Ice Massage
Ice is regarded as the best pain reliever. Wrap some ice in a towel. Put it on the painful area. It'll slow the nerve impulses of this area, and ease the pain sensation.

Heat Therapy
Take a bath with warm water. Else, apply a hot water bottle or perhaps a heating pad on the aching area. It'll stimulate the blood flow within the affected area, thus reducing the pain.
